Lake Catani Campground
Managed by Parks Victoria, Lake Catani Campground is an unspoilt adventure and nature lover's paradise. The camping ground is open for summer camping from November to the end of April and winter camping during the declared snow season.
Idyllic High Country Camping
Set amongst picturesque Snow Gum woodland, this idyllic and family friendly camping spot high in the Alps offers 49 campsites. Some are suitable for small caravans and campervans while others are for car camping and tents only. Walk-in campsites provide campers with even quieter surroundings.
Bookings are required during green season - you can book through Parks Victoria.
Summer Camping
Summer camping at Lake Catani is available from the beginning of November until the end of April and campsites must be booked in advance. Peak period includes Melbourne Cup Day weekend, Christmas/January school holidays, Labour Day weekend and Easter school holidays. Bookings open at 10.00am on 1 September each year and are based on first in, first served basis.
The campground includes hot showers, toilets and a range of drive in and walk in tent sites and small camper-trailer sites, including a Group Camping site for schools and groups. Several campsites are available for visitors with limited mobility, along with a separate accessible toilet and hot shower. There is a nightly cost for each site - prices are listed on the Parks Victoria website.
Though campers are required to be self-sufficient with drinking water, the scenic campground contains everything else you need for a comfortable stay - from toilets and hot showers to dishwashing and even a basic laundry.
A historic stone shelter features tables and fireplaces for shared use, great for rainy days.
At the lake, a newly refurbished picnic shelter overlooks the popular Lakeside Day Visitor Area. With accessible toilets, free gas barbecues and tables, it's the perfect setting for picnicking on the shores, enjoying a cool swim or paddling a canoe.
Winter Camping
Free snow camping is available during June, July and August only. The main
toilet, shower and laundry facilities are closed during winter but there is a pit toilet behind the stone picnic shelter.
