Snowplay & Tobogganing
Free mountain entry, multiple toboggan slopes, no crowds and easy car parking ... it's little wonder that thousands of Aussies come back to Mount Buffalo year after year for their family snowplay and tobogganing fix.
Dingo Dell and Cresta Valley
The two main winter locations for snowplay and tobogganing are Dingo Dell and Cresta Valley. Both locations offer a much quieter and more relaxed kind of winter experience compared to the large Victorian ski resorts.
Dingo Dell has a Day Visitor Centre. This will only be open with a Cafe when the Dingo Dell toboggan run is open. There are no toboggan hire or snow-wear hire facilities on Mount Buffalo, so you'll need to hire your outerwear and snow boots in Myrtleford, Porepunkah or Bright before you travel up the mountain.
Cresta Valley has toilets but no day shelter or cafe.
Parking is free and close to the snowplay areas at both locations.
Tobogganing
The Dingo Dell toboggan slope is very popular with families wanting a fun day in the snow. The slope is long and has the perfect gradient for tobogganing. Go as fast or slow as you like!
Cresta Valley offers an even longer toboggan slope for the adventurous!
Snowplay
Build a snowman, have a snowball fight, make a snow angel or just relax and enjoy the winter views. There's lots of space at both Dingo Dell and Cresta Valley to spread out and play.
Snowshoe Rambles
For a slightly different snow experience why not try a snow shoe ramble through the snow gums? A Licensed Tour Operator runs snowshoe tours when conditions permit.
Hire Clothing
There are no toboggan or snow-wear hire facilities on Mount Buffalo, so you'll need to hire your outerwear, snow boots and cross country skiing equipment in Myrtleford, Porepunkah or Bright before you travel up the mountain.
Mountain Entry
There is no charge to access Mount Buffalo at any time during the year. Car parking is also free.
